Abstract

This Regulation, based on the provisions of the Montenegrin Veterinary Law, prescribes the classification, management, related procedures, methods of processing, hygienic and veterinary-health conditions for by-products of animal origin and products obtained from by-products that are not intended for human consumption, hygienic and veterinary and other conditions for facilities for the collection, transport and use of by-products, including rules on internal and international trade with such products. By-products of animal origin are whole bodies or parts of animals, products of animal origin and other products derived from animals not intended for human consumption, including ova, embryos and semen. Products obtained from by-products of animal origin are products obtained by the process of processing, by-products of animal origin. This text also transposes the contents of the Regulation (EC) No. 1069/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down health rules as regards animal by-products and derived products not intended for human consumption and repealing Regulation (EC) No. 1774/2002 (Animal by-products Regulation); and Commission Regulation (EU) No. 142/2011 implementing Regulation (EC) No. 1069/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down health rules as regards animal by-products and derived products not intended for human consumption and implementing Council Directive 97/78/EC as regards certain samples and items exempt from veterinary checks at the border under that Directive.
