Abstract This Regulation lays down rules for the purpose, scope, management and administration of the research and practice center of Ankara University. This research and practice center aims at extending and developing research on aquaculture and fishery, raising the awareness of the society on aquaculture and water resources, contributing to the aquaculture industry, and providing scientific platforms to overcome problems arising in the sector. The duties of the research and practice center are to organize scientific events to gather the stakeholders; establish research laboratories to conduct interdisciplinary studies; carry out social activities to raise public awareness on fisheries and aquaculture; provide consultancy services to local institutions upon request; present scientific research projects and provide support for infrastructure; carry out joint studies and strengthen the cooperation with governmental institutions, the private sector and universities abroad; and suggest solutions for the problems arising in the fields of aquaculture, fishery and catch.
