Abstract This Regulation sets forth provisions on the purpose, scope, management, functions and administration of the advanced agricultural research and application centre of the Konya Food and Agriculture University. The main functions of the advanced agricultural research and application centre are (I) to contribute to the transformation into digital agriculture at the national and international level and to the socio-economic development; (II) to carry out research studies in the fields of food security, agricultural mechanization and integration, sustainable management of natural resources, biotechnology, modern irrigation techniques, post-harvest treatment, fertilization and pest management; (III) to promote technology in food production and storage and to optimize waste management; (IV) to ensure food safety in the fields of production, storage, transportation, supply, handling, and processing of food with a farm to fork approach; (V) to ensure food security by achieving economic growth and sustainability through effective policies on food, water and environment; (VI) to establish agricultural business models for farmers, agricultural entrepreneurs, cooperatives and food industry and to carry out these models in coordination with their research studies; (VII) to organize training sessions to promote good agricultural practices in the agriculture, food and livestock sector; and (VIII) to promote the use of biotechnology and protection of genetic resources. The Centre shall provide consultancy, education and accreditation services to state institutions and organizations, the private sector, and civil society organizations.
