Abstract

Ill and suspected of illness fishes must be transported in the laboratory alive. There must be selected 15-20 fishes evidently manifesting clinical symptoms of disease. In the absence of the possibility to supply live fish pieces of infected organs and tissue must be taken from adult fishes, put into sterile glass jar filled up with sterile 40% water solution of glycerine tapped with cork, coated with paraffin and sent by courier to the laboratory. In case of suspicious invasion disease infected by parasites organs and tissue of big fishes must be extracted (branchiae, bowels, liver, etc.) and sent for laboratory study preserved in a jar while small fishes must be sent wholesome. In case of suspicious death of fishes by poisoning there must be taken water samples in the place of death of fishes, sewage water of industrial enterprises and agricultural works situated nearby water collection area of the water basin in question.
