The reserve shall perform the following tasks: (a) conservation, restoration and reproduction of valuable game species, rare and endangered wild fauna species, primarily bustard and little bustard, nesting swans, colonies of cranes, migratory waterfowl, conservation of their natural habitats, migratory routes, nesting places, and also wintering areas and maintenance of general ecological balance; (b) increase of the number of bustard; (c) protection of natural landscape, rare and valuable plant species; (d) biotechnical arrangements; (e) registration and scientifically substantiated regulation of the number of wild fauna species by permit of the authorized state body for wildlife management; (f) banding and marking of wild fauna species; (g) assistance in scientific research; and (h) promotion of tourism. On the whole territory of the reserve shall be prohibited: (a) movement of motor vehicles, except for service vehicles; (b) commercial, sport and recreational hunting, fishing (except for local residents) and other types of wildlife management; and (c) making fires.
