It shall be part of the international network of biosphere reserves carrying out global ecological monitoring. Reserve shall have the following purposes: (a) protection and preservation of natural ecosystems with a view of conservation of biological diversity; (b) research; (c) ecological monitoring; (d) ecological education; and (e) training of scientific personnel. The following activities shall be prohibited on the territory of reserve: (a) all types of hunting; (b) transit passage of cattle; (c) any activity modifying the existing hydrological regime; (d) construction; (e) application of chemicals and fertilizers; (f) timber extraction and procurement of non-timber forest products; and (g) introduction and acclimatization of living organisms.
