Protection of groundwater shall include: (a) compliance with water legislation; (b) prevention of leakage of effluent waste water and mitigation of the consequences thereof; (c) improvement of effluent waste water treatment and prevention of discharge thereof into water courses, water reservoirs and underground water aquifers; (d) compliance with requirements for exploration of groundwater deposits and abstraction of groundwater; and (e) other groundwater protection arrangements. Registration of groundwater shall be carried within common registration system of water resources. Well sinking shall be subject to mandatory licensing. Unauthorized well sinking, re-equipment of boreholes and water abstraction without water management licence shall be prohibited. Full text Russian Website www.cawater-info.net
