Abstract This Regulation, as in accordance with the provisions of the Serbian Law on the recognition of varieties of agricultural plants, prescribes the methods of testing for grapevine varieties in the experimental field and in the laboratory, in order to recognize the variety. These methods shall examine certain essential characteristics of the variety, in order to determine: 1) variety, uniformity and stability of the variety (DUS test); 2) better production and use value of the variety (VCU test). The production and use value of a variety is determined on the basis of the results of examination of certain essential characteristics of the variety which refer to: 1) observation of phenological phases; 2) resistance to pathogens and pests; 3) resistance to low temperatures; 4) yield; 5) morphological characteristics of the fruit; 6) suitability of the fruit for transport; 7) storage of fruit; 8) fruit yield; 9) chemical-technological properties of the fruit; 10) sensory evaluation of the produced fruit.
