Abstract This Regulation, as in accordance with the provisions of the Serbian Law on the recognition of varieties of agricultural plants, determines the methods of testing the cannabis variety Cannabis sativa L. on experimental fields and in laboratories, in order to recognize the exact variety of such cultivations. The methods here provided are aimed at verifying certain essential characteristics of the variety, in order to determine: 1) production and use values of the variety (VCU test); 2) variety, uniformity and stability of the variety (DUS test). The plant variety object of this text is further classified into different groups in relation to the effective purpose of its cultivation as follows: 1) for fiber; 2) for grain; 3) for combined use (for fiber and grain).
