Abstract

This Regulation prescribes: a) certain preventive measures, a system of surveillance and early detection of avian influenza and awareness raising issues and rules regarding the readiness of competent authorities and poultry farmers about risks of this disease; b) minimum control and inspection measures to be applied in the event of an outbreak of influenza in birds in poultry and other birds and when there is a possible spread of avian influenza virus to mammals; c) additional measures to prevent the spread of influenza virus of avian origin to other species.
