Abstract This Regulation prescribes the manner of establishing and organizing of the system of rapid notification and alerting for the safety of food and feed. The aim of this Regulation is to ensure the establishment of the Rapid Alert System on the territory of the Republic of Serbia, as well as the inclusion of that system in the Rapid Alert System for Food or Feed Safety of the European Union or win other similar international systems, as in accordance with international agreements and food safety related laws. Rules provided in this text shall apply in the event of a direct or indirect risk to human and animal health caused by food or feed, as follows: 1) when the danger in food or feed has been determined; 2) when the danger in food or feed has not been determined, but there are appropriate scientific data that indicate a link between their use and the occurrence of harmful effects on human or animal health; 3) for the purpose of applying the precautionary principle in accordance with current laws.
