Abstract This Regulation, based on the provisions of the national Law on environmental noise protection, determines the locations of measuring stations and measuring points from which the impact of the noise sources on the environment is monitored. Measuring stations and measuring points should be located in areas where it is necessary to provide noise protection of human health and environment and to enable the following: 1. implementation of systematic monitoring and measurements to determine the noise load in environment; 2. collection of accurate data for application of strategic noise maps and information for preparation of action plans for reduction of noise pollution; 3. collection of accurate data on the exposure of the population to noise, which assess the harmful effects of noise on the health of the population; 4. exchange of information. The locations of these measuring stations and measuring points are determined by areas depending on the degree of noise protection and the type of activities and sensitivity of present population that resides in them and are differentiated in four degrees (article 3).
