Abstract

The Act establishes regulation with regard to the establishment of a limited fund for the registration of a vessel name, registration number, nationality and domicile and ship's tonnage when transporting oil. Applicants shall provide the court with a copy of a certificate (in English or Swedish for Swedish vessels and English or French for foreign non-Swedish vessels) containing the vessel’s code and tonnage (IMO – International Maritime Organization - identification number). The application shall be submitted to the Transport Agency at least thirty days prior to entering into Swedish ports or other areas in the Swedish territorial waters. Insurance or security within its validity period may expire earlier than three months from the date of written notice of termination is received by the Transport Agency, and only if the certificate has been submitted to the Transportation Board or a new certificate has been issued.
