This Regulation applies to animal health, public health and animal welfare requirements for imports and transit of the following products from third countries: (a) poultry, hatching eggs, day-old chicks and specifically pathogen-free eggs; (b) fresh meat, milled meat and mechanically boned meat of poultry and birds, and (c) eggs and egg products. The Regulation contains forms of health certificates and a list of third states, territories, zones and parts of third countries that are approved for import and transit of the products to which this Regulation applies. The Regulation also establishes a list of third states that have an approved residue monitoring program. Commission Regulation (EC) No 798/2008 laying down a list of third countries, territories, zones or compartments from which poultry and poultry products may be imported into and transit through the Community and the veterinary certification requirements (Text with EEA relevance) as amended and subject to certain modifications is adopted as Norwegian law. Products of animal origin intended for human consumption can only be imported from third countries listed in annex to Regulation 27 January 2000 No. 65 on control measures for residues of certain substances in animal foodstuffs, production animals and fish to ensure health-safe foodstuffs.
