Abstract

The present Regulation, issued by the Swedish Food Agency, contains rules on food hygiene and approval and registration of facilities etc. The Regulation contains 81 Articles, and also covers drinking water and tobacco products. Among other things, the Regulations sets rules on the requirements for registration of facilities, including application procedures; storage and use; repackaging of pre-packed foods; transport of food; food of animal origin; dairy products; retail; etc. In addition to what is stated in Article 6 (2) of Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 on the hygiene of foodstuffs, food business operators must ensure that their establishments are registered if they carry out any of the following activities: 1. activities covered by the Swedish Food Agency's regulations on drinking water; 2. preparation, treatment or processing of "snus" or chewing tobacco.
