Country/Territory Romania Document type Regulation Date 2003 Source FAO, FAOLEX Subject Fisheries Keyword Fishery management and conservation Inland fisheries Freshwater fishes Molluscs Crustaceans Use restrictions Aquatic animals Geographical area Black Sea, Eastern Europe, Europe, Europe and Central Asia, European Union Countries Basin Danube, Prut Abstract Fishing of any species of fish, crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic species is prohibited as follows: (a) in the Prut river, in permanently or temporarily flooded areas and in the Stanca – Costesti reservoir, for 60 consecutive days, between April 1 and June 30; (b) at the mouth of the Prut river in the Danube, at a distance of 500 m on both sides and along the river course at a distance of 10 km from the confluence, in the period March 1 - June 1; (c) in the Prut river, in front of the sluices, canals and inlets feeding ponds and lakes, at a distance of 500 m from both sides of the mouths, as well as inside them, during the period of March 15 - June 15; and (d) in the Prut River, in the area 500 m downstream of the dam, throughout the year.
