According to the Regulation, issuance and renewal of the mining exploration licenses are prohibited in following areas: national parks, national natural monuments, wetlands, wildlife shelters, protected areas, protected rivers, forests, grasslands and urban areas. The Industry and Mining Ministry only may issue or renew the mining exploration license with authorization of the Department of Environment.
