Abstract

This Regulation provides for an environmental compensation (eco bonus) to be granted by the Swedish Transport Administration in order to stimulate the transfer of transport of goods from road to water (shipping). Environmental compensation may be granted for new maritime transport or improvements to existing maritime transport which leads to road transport being replaced by maritime transport. It may be granted to a ship-owner who  1. conducts shipping with vessels registered in a ship register in an EEA country and where the voyage of the vessel includes at least one unloading or loading of transferred goods in a Swedish port, and 2. is established in the European Union on the basis of transparent and transparent criteria applied in a non-discriminatory manner.
