Abstract

This Regulation, based on the provisions of the Croatian Law on radiological and nuclear safety, prescribes necessary conditions, deadlines and manner of acquiring special professional education and renewal of knowledge on the application of radiological safety measures, as well as conditions, deadlines and manner of acquiring special professional education for handling ionizing radiation sources and work in nuclear facilities. Provisions on expertise for work in nuclear installations in the sense of this text are aimed for: 1. nuclear power plants; 2. research reactors; 3. other nuclear facilities. This transposes the provisions of the Council Directive 2013/59/Euratom laying down basic safety standards for protection against the dangers arising from exposure to ionising radiation, and repealing Directives 89/618/Euratom, 90/641/Euratom, 96/29/Euratom, 97/43/Euratom and 2003/122/Euratom; and Council Directive 2014/87/EURATOM amending Directive 2009/71/Euratom establishing a Community framework for the nuclear safety of nuclear installations.
