This Regulation enters into force on 16 February 2002.
Abstract

In order to ensure the high nutritional quality of ecological products this Regulation prescribes the permitted additives for ecological products that are not from ecological origin (wine excluded). It is forbidden to use genetically modified organisms, as well as their products, in the process of ecological production. The text contains the list of permitted additives for every category of foodstuff. It also deals with packaging requirements, advising the use of recycling packing materials.
