The Council compromises the Chairman of the Council, the Secretariat and Committees. Council meetings shall be convened at least once every three months. Main duties of the Council include coordination and making appropriate policies for efficient use of marine resources, increase in the safety of maritime shipping and transportation, coordinating the scientific and research activities regarding the Oceanography, providing appropriate suggestion for relevant law making, making appropriate communication between Marine Information Centers and development of international cooperation.
