Abstract

This Regulation, as in accordance with the provisions of the Law on plant health protection (Republic of Srpska), prescribes the measures for detection, prevention of spread and control of the harmful organism Ralstonia solanacearum (Smith) Yabuuchi et al. which is the causative agent of brown potato tuber rot and bacterial wilt of potatoes and tomatoes, including the method for determining the boundaries of infected and endangered or non-endangered areas. To detect the occurrence of this harmful organism, examinations and inspections shall be performed on potato plants and tubers (Solanum tuberosum L.) and of tomato plants (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.), as well as on involved facilities. In order to detect other possible sources of infection which can jeopardize the production of the main host plants, an assessment of the risk of spreading the pest will be also implemented among preventive measures.
