Abstract

This Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food, which is composed of 11 articles and one Annex, lays down measures for the detection, prevention and eradication of bovine tuberculosis, caused by the bacterium mycobacterium bovis. Clinical symptoms typical for bovine tuberculosis are specified in Annex 1. In case of suspicion of bovine tuberculosis, the official veterinarian is obliged to introduce the following measures: (1) ban on movements of cattle except the ones in slaughterhouses intended for slaughter under official supervision; (2) isolation of suspected animals; (3) milk of suspected animals can be used for consumption of other animals on the farm after the preliminary heat treatment, other bovine milk can be used for human consumption if it was at the dairy heat treated under official supervision, at least at the temperature of pasteurization; (4) installation of disinfection barriers at the exit or entrance to the location of cattle. Costs of diagnostic tests are covered from the budget of the Republic of Slovenia. The cost of other measures and rehabilitation of farming is covered by the keeper.
