Abstract This Regulation, based on the provisions of the Law on ambient air quality, prescribes detailed content and sets the manner for preparation of the National Plan for ambient air protection. This Plan should integrate and process all pollutants that have a significant share and impact in air pollution. Detailed contents are listed in article 2 (data on the state of air quality; predictions for the possible development of the future state of ambient air quality; measures for protection and improvement of the ambient air quality). Measures for protection and improvement of the ambient air quality from (from article 2, paragraph 1, item 3) should refer to: 1) use of renewable energy sources (biodiesel, solar energy, wind, thermal energy, etc.); 2) increase of energy efficiency; 3) realization of energy development; 4) encouraging industrial development policies; 5) monitoring the industrial production and technological development and use of Best Available Techniques; 6) use of raw materials with defined and constant quality, important for preserving limit values of pollutants emitted in ambient air; 7) use of fuels that have a content of pollutants in accordance with related legislation; 8) use of proper ways of transport, as well as development and promotion of road and rail traffic; 9) sustainable waste management on the entire national territory; 10) providing controlled combustion (incineration) without or with energy reutilization; 11) realization of planning documents for rescue and protection from accidents, plans for protection against floods, fires, earthquakes and other natural phenomena and disasters.; 12) continuous monitoring over the condition of ambient air quality.
