Abstract

This Regulation, which consists of 12 articles, aims to regulate provisions on protection of water resources, as well as on management of water use in the country. The Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Energy are responsible for the enforcement of the Regulation. To monitor water resources, the situation of all fields of the states regarding their available surface and ground water resources shall be established annually. Furthermore, according to the Regulation, the Committee on Protection of Groundwater Resources shall be established in each Province of the country. The balance between available resources and current consumption of water shall be considered in preparation of any plan for the improvement of the water resources. These programs should be also flexible due to the drought condition in each period of time.
