Before an operator places food on the market as organic food, that operator must notify his activities to a control body. A control body wishing to perform control tasks within organic food production must apply to the Swedish National Food Agency to get control tasks delegated to it within one or more of the following areas: 1. unprocessed plant foods; 2. unprocessed animal foods; 3. aquaculture products and algae for food purposes; 4. processed agricultural products for food purposes.
