Abstract This Regulation, based on the provisions of the Water Law (Republika Srpska), prescribes the conditions and manner of maintenance of riverbeds and water land, dislocation and extraction of materials from watercourses in order to implement protection measures that do not change natural processes, do not disturb the natural balance of ecosystem and do not engage harmful water action. Conditions and manner of maintenance of riverbeds and water land, dislocation and extraction of materials from watercourses are performed in a way that ensure the procession of hydrological, torrential and erosion elements, especially those related to: 1) flood protection; 2) preventing the creation of slowdowns; 3) prevention of uncontrolled and harmful reduction or increase of flow profiles, other than optimally required; 4) removing or reducing the possibility of meandering rivers; 5) prevention of uncontrolled change of river flow and causing damage to the coast and the surrounding area; 6) prevention of erosion created by water and unwanted sediment deposition on individual sections of the river.
