Abstract

This Regulation prescribes the quantity of hazardous substances, classified into categories, which are used for determining the coefficient/degree of risk category of a certain SEVESO plant (facilities/establishments/industrial sites and compounds where certain quantities of dangerous substances are present, and which are engaged in activities linked to handling, manufacturing, using or storing dangerous substances). Depending on the quantity of hazardous substances, SEVESO plants are possibly classified in two different groups: 1) lower risk; and 2) higher risk plants.
