Abstract

This Regulation sets forth rules for controlling and eradicating bovine tuberculosis. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs prepares programmes for eradicating bovine tuberculosis. Bovine tuberculosis is classified as a notifiable disease. Treatment and vaccination against the disease are prohibited. Infected animals must be isolated, marked accordingly and slaughtered. Meats of slaughtered animals must be treated in accordance with regulations in force. A thorough and detailed cleaning and disinfection treatment shall be applied in locations where infection occurred, before accepting new animals to the site. Provisions on disinfection methods are laid down. Conditions for classifying herds as disease-free herds are detailed in the Regulation as well.
