Abstract

The objective of this Regulation of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, which is composed of 16 articles and two Annexes, is to eliminate, prevent or reduce harmful effects of arsenic, cadmium, mercury, nickel and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in ambient air on human health and the environment as a whole. This Regulation establishes: (1) target concentrations of arsenic, cadmium, nickel and benzo pyrene in the air; (2) measures to preserve air quality from pollution by arsenic, cadmium, nickel and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in areas where air quality is good; (3) methods and criteria to assess concentrations of arsenic, cadmium, mercury, nickel and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in the atmosphere; (4) the way of informing the public on air pollution. This Regulation is divided into the following Sections: General provisions (Sec. 1); Target values and assessment (Sec. 2); Levels of pollution and implementation measures (Sec. 3); Assessment of contamination (Sec. 4); Information (Sec. 5); Transitional and final provisions (Sec. 6).
