Abstract The present Regulation contains provisions regarding the mandatory waste plans for municipalities according to Chapter 15 Article 41 of the Swedish Environmental Code. It lays down rules concerning their content, and the information that municipalities must provide to households, the county administrative board and The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. As regards the content of the plans, the Regulation contains rules regarding their purpose, goals, measures and instruments; assessment of future collection systems and facilities; description of the current situation; information on closed landfills; and information on consultation and environmental assessment carried out by the municipality.
