Abstract

This Ministerial Regulation, implementing provisions of article 2 paragraph 2 of the Law no. 1 of 1970 concerning safety and health at work, provides for the definition of safety work conditions in logging and wood transportation. The Regulation defines: research activity concerning forestry; forest mapping; construction of roads and related activities; protection of trees; logging activity; transportation of wood through rivers, watercourses or the sea. Matters covered by this Regulation concerns: occupational health and safety norms in logging and transportation of wood, including: medical examinations, standards, requirements and safety measures to comply with before cutting down a tree, examination and control of machinery, chainsaw and tractors, cables, wind pipes and other equipments, protective equipment to be worn by each category of workers involved, availability of medicines and equipments for first aid and disease prevention; obligations of entrepreneurs and managers in logging and transportation of timber; sanctions.
