Abstract This Ministerial Regulation provides for definition of new provisions concerning import of forest products, in order to enhance business certainty, improve procedures for business licensing services, and support the implementation of imports of forest products. The Regulation concerns raw and processed forest products; import declaration; business identification number; customs area. According to the Regulation, each type of imported forest product must comply with the principle of legality and the provisions of Indonesian legislation; importer must apply for permit and authorisations. The Regulation concerns procedures for: approval of permit request, its issuance, the definition of tariffs related to import of forest products, traceability of import products, consumer protection. The attached schedule includes a list of types of forest products regularly imported, including: firewood, logs, bundles of branches; wood in chip shape and similar forms; rough wood; wooden stick; cardboards and paper used for writing, printing and other graphic purposes.
