Abstract

This Regulation provides for the implementation of sustainable tourism destination in accordance with defined guidelines, whose scope includes: economic benefits to local communities; cultural preservation for community and visitors; environmental conservation. The Guidelines define the following relevant terms: tour; tourist; tourism; tourism activities; tourist attraction; sustainable tourism; tourism ecosystem; area of tourism destination; local wisdom; cultural conservation; preservation; global sustainable tourism council (GSTC). Management of sustainable tourism destination covers the following criteria and indicators: sustainable destination strategy, monitoring, crisis and emergency management, climate change adaptation and risk assessment, property acquisitions, sustainability standards and environmental management system, inspection of fire, food and beverage safety and hygiene, electricity safety.
