This Regulation enters into force on 29 January 2018.
Abstract

This Regulation, consisting of 4 articles and one Appendix, establishes the prohibition of Oceanic Whitetip Shark (Carcharhinus longimanus) and Great Hammerhead Shark (Sphyrna spp.) fishing inside and outside the territorial waters of Indonesia. The Regulation specifies that everyone is prohibited from catching and transporting the above mentioned Shark species and their processing products from and to the territory of the Republic of Indonesia. Great Hammerhead Shark (Sphyrna spp.) consists of three species, namely: a) Sphyrna lewini; b) Sphyrna mokarran; and c) Sphyrna zygaena. Appendix describes in details Oceanic Whitetip Shark (Carcharhinus longimanus) and Great Hammerhead Shark (Sphyrna spp.). The prohibition applies also to the selling of these shark species including their processed products and will be valid until 31 December 2018.
