Abstract This Regulation, consisting of 37 articles divided into eleven Chapters and three Annexes, establishes the Fishing Vessel Monitoring System, abbreviated as SPKP. The objectives of the SPKP are: a) improve the effectiveness of fisheries management; b) increase compliance of fishing vessels carrying out fishing and/or transporting fish according to the provisions of the legislation; c) obtain data and information about fishing vessel activities in the context of responsible and sustainable fisheries management; and d) improve the implementation of law enforcement in the field of fisheries.
