Abstract

This Regulation, implementing provisions of paragraphs 37 (2) and 168 (4) of the Water Act, and in compliance with the provisions of the Council Directive 91/676/EEC on the protection of water bodies against nitrate pollution from agriculture, provides for defining: a nitrate-sensitive area, and limestone and karst areas within its limits; unprotected groundwater areas; the location of these areas; important spring and karst areas to be protected; restricted activities in areas with unprotected groundwater, including: use of nitrogen-containing mineral fertilisers on agricultural land, use of sewage sludge, presence of animals in cultivated land.
