Abstract

This Regulation concerns monitoring and supervision of imported fresh food of animals and plants origin contaminated with radioactivity, to ensure the food meet the food safety requirements, in order to protect Indonesian consumers’ health. The Regulation provides for specific certificate for radioactivity for food imported from countries with nuclear emergency status; establishes maximum radioactivity limits; defines quarantine measures for food and quarantine entry points; administrative examinations and outcomes on the basis of the results; notification of compliance or not compliance with food safety ministerial standards; revocation of a previous Regulation on the same topic.
