This Regulation enters into force on 14 February 2007.
Abstract

This Regulation, consisting of 37 articles divided into 10 Chapters, establishes Guidelines and Requirements for Pesticide Registration. This Regulation is intended as a legal basis for the administration of registration including testing and licensing as well as supervision of pesticides. This Regulation aims to: a) protecting people and the environment from harmful effects resulting from the storage, distribution and use of pesticides; b) improve efficiency and effectiveness of pesticide use; c) supporting the implementation of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) system; and d) provide legal certainty in conducting procurement activities of pesticide storage and distribution. The scope of this Regulation includes the classification and types of licensing registration requirements, registration procedures, pesticide containers, labels as well as administrative sanctions. Areas of pesticide use include: a) management of plants; b) animal husbandry and health; c) fishery; d) forestry; e) storage of agricultural produce; f) household; g) vector control of disease in humans; h) quarantine and pre-shipment.
