Abstract

This Regulation determine the requirements for retail businesses that that supply poultry eggs or donating food of animal origin, in particular: (a) a small amount of donated poultry eggs, with the exception of eggs obtained from birds of the Gallus gallus (domestic fowl) species, or frozen fresh meat, frozen minced meat, frozen meat products, frozen fresh or fresh prepared fishery products and frozen other processed products of animal origin for other retail businesses; and (b) supplies poultry eggs in small quantities to retail businesses. In the sense of these regulations, another retail business that is allowed to receive poultry eggs or food intended for donation is an association, foundation, religious organization or its institution that engages in charity and is registered with the Food and Veterinary Service in accordance with the regulatory enactments on the recognition and registration procedure. In the sense of these regulations, a small amount is up to 30 percent of the total amount of poultry eggs and food sold by the retail company per month. The activity is considered a limited local activity if the retail business supplies or donates poultry eggs or donates food within a radius of 200 kilometers from the location of the business to which the food is delivered or donated. A retail business that delivers poultry eggs or donates poultry eggs or food, as well as a retail business to which poultry eggs are delivered, or another retail business to which poultry eggs or food is donated, shall ensure: (a) traceability of food and poultry eggs; and (b) the company's compliance with the requirements of European Union and Latvian regulatory acts in the field of food circulation.
