This Regulation enters into force the day after its publication in the Official Gazette.
Abstract

Provisions of this Resolution are mandatory for all slaughterhouses (abattoirs) that desire to supply or provide red meats and poultry meat to the Emirates markets. It provides for the health and technical requirements in order to register with and obtain the necessary permission from the Authority for Standardization and Metrology. Article 3 deals with obligations and responsibilities of the conformity assessment bodies relating to inspections, registration and requirements implementation. The Halal certification bodies are responsible for certification of products and certification of slaughterhouses. Article 4 provides for the procedures for registration of slaughterhouses. Article 5 regards general requirements and technical conditions. Effective control procedures should be applied during all production, storage, transport and trading. The Authority may issue decisions related to the exception of any of the Islamic countries or certain products of some of the requirements of this decision. As for article 6 the Authority has the right to withdraw any products samples to conduct the necessary tests.
