Abstract

This Regulation, implementing the provisions of Article 68 paragraph (3) of Sintang Regency Regional Regulation no. 1 of 2016 concerning Environmental Protection and Management, provides for land clearing activities and control and limitation of fire methods to be implemented by members of local farming communities in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and with traditional and customary rights. The Regulation provides the steps of land clearing: making land borders; logging and land clearing activity; waste utilisation to produce renewable energy; and requires each member of farming community to plant local varieties and comply with the prescribed methods of clearing, manually or mechanical. The Regulation concerns limited and controlled burning; air pollution emergency level; rights and obligations of members of farming communities; coordination of regional disaster management agencies; monitoring activity; financing.
