Abstract This Regulation is composed of 33 articles. Articles 1 and 2 deal with terms and definitions. The import, export and transit of plant consignments and plant products shall be subject to this Regulation (art. 3). Plant consignments shall be enclosed with a sanitary certificate issued by the competent Authority of the country of origin (art. 5). All plant consignments shall be introduced in Jordan through specific crossing points (art. 7). Articles 9-19 deal with procedures for the verification of the documents that accompany plant consignments, sampling, analysis, disinfection and disinfestations of consignments. Article 20 deals with the packages and wrapping materials used for plant consignments and plant products. Article 21 has to do with measures to be taken in case of danger represented by the introduction of a plant consignment. Articles 26-31 deal with measures and requirements necessary for plant consignments in transit. The Director of the Plant Protection Department shall issue resolutions for the definition of quarantine pests and diseases mentioned in this Regulation (art. 32).
