Abstract

This Regulation establishes that the production, import into and export from Estonia, sale and use of the following products shall be prohibited: (a) products that contain industrial chemicals listed in the List of Prohibited Chemicals whose Treatment is Strictly Restricted, approved by Regulation No. 6 of 5 January 1999 of the Government of Estonia, “Approval of the Procedure for Import and Export of Prohibited Chemicals whose Treatment is Strictly Restricted” (RT I 1999, 5, 70); (b) alkaline manganese batteries containing more than 0.0005 % of mercury by weight, with the exception of button cells and batteries composed of button cells containing less than 2 % of mercury by weight; and (c) Appliances in which batteries are rigidly fixed and cannot be readily removed by the user after their exhaustion, containing: more than 25 mg of mercury per cell; more than 0.025 % of cadmium by weight; and more than 0.4 % of lead by weight.
