Abstract

The Regulation lays down definitions of the severity of animal testing and more specific requirements for the classification of animal testing according to severity, as well as requirements and methods for the killing of experimental animals by animal species. It consists of six sections: Scope of application (1); Definitions of severity of animal testing (2); More specific requirements for classification of animal experiments according to severity (3); Requirements for killing of experimental animals (4); Methods of killing experimental animals (5); and Entry into force of regulation (6).
