Abstract The present Regulation, issued by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, lays down rules for voluntary labeling, as stated in Article 5, of catches that meet the specified conditions for participation in the labeling scheme, as outlined in Article 2. Among other requirements, fishing shall be carried out exclusively using sustainable fishing gear as defined in Annex 4. Only the fish species listed in Annex 3 and caught in the specified fishing areas may be labeled under the scheme. The Danish Fisheries Agency may authorize commercial fishing companies to register one or more vessels owned by the commercial fishing company for labeling fish caught with the registered vessels under the labeling scheme for fish caught near the coast using sustainable fishing gear.
