This Regulation enters into force after its publication in the Official Gazette.
Abstract

This Regulation establishes the pollutant release and transfer register in the form of a public electronic database to facilitate public participation in environmental decision-making aiming at preventing and reducing environmental pollution. The Regulation consists of the following Chapters: Scope and purpose (1); Content, establishment, and structure of PRTR (2); Operator’s obligation to report (3); Discharge from distributing sources (4); Quality assurances and assessment, freedom of information, public participation and appeal rights (5). The list of installations subject to report is attached to the Regulation as Appendix 1 and Polluters List as Appendix 2. The Regulation is partially approximated with Regulation (EC) No 166/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 January 2006 concerning the establishment of a European Pollutant Release and Transfer Register.
