Regulation No. 636 supplementing the Animal Health Regulation with provisions on the movement of terrestrial animals, hatching eggs and animal products from terrestrial animals in the EEA area (the Terrestrial Animal Movement Regulations).

Abstract

The present regulation supplements the Animal Health Regulation with provisions on the movement of kept and wild terrestrial animals, hatching eggs and animal products from terrestrial animals within the EEA. Terrestrial animals falling covered by the Regulation are terrestrial mammals, birds, bees and bumblebees. The Regulation contains 30 sections divided into the following chapters: I. Scope of application, definitions and implementation; II. Supplementary national provisions - General provisions; III. Supplementary national provisions - restrictions on the movement of animals in Norway; IV. Supplementary national provisions - exceptions when moving animals to Norway; V. Administrative provisions. Additionally, the Regulation contains the following Annexes: I. National monitoring programs according to § 11; II. Regions and zones established to limit the spread of varroa and tracheal mite infection in Norway pursuant to § 13 and § 14; III. TSE classes for sheep according to § 16; IV. Regions for the transfer of sheep according to § 17; and V. Requirements for testing sheep in accordance with § 18 and § 19. The Norwegian Food Safety Authority shall be responsible for enforcing, supervising and enacting necessary complementary decisions to ensure compliance with this Regulation.
