Abstract

The present Regulation supplements the Animal Health Regulation with provisions on registration and approval of facilities for germinal products and traceability, as well as animal health requirements for the transfer of germinal products from certain kept land animals within the EEA. The Regulation covers semen, oocytes and embryos from cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, equine animals, dogs, cats, animals kept in closed facilities and camelids and deers. It does not apply to hatching eggs or breeding material from wild animals. The Regulation contains 16 sections divided into the following chapters: I. Scope of application, definitions, and implementation; II. Supplementary national provisions; and III. Administrative provisions.
