Abstract

This Regulation sets forth the trading, licensing, production and supply of seedlings of fruits and vegetables as well as medicinal and aromatic plants according to article (19/A/1) of the Agricultural Law No. 44 of 2002. It provides for some general provisions and definitions. Article 3 prohibits the establishment of any kind of nursery , or moving nurseries from one location to the other without obtaining a license. The Regulation provides for the conditions for establishing a nursery (Art.4), conditions for vegetable nurseries (Art.5), specifications for vegetable seedlings (Art. 7). The Regulation also states the general conditions for the import and export of seedlings and ornamental plants, as well as registration procedures.All imported seedlings should be without any pests. Any violation to the provisions of this Regulation will be penalized according to the Agricultural Law No. 44 of 2002.
